Purpose of the Role:
To deliver an efficient, compliant, and consistently high standard of repairs service to my client's customers, ensuring that customer satisfaction is at the heart of every job completed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently carry out a wide variety of carpentry, plumbing, and other trade tasks at multiskilled level, in line with a Level 2/3 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations (or equivalent). Tasks include internal and external works to my client's properties and communal areas.

  • Ensure all works are completed to a professional standard, following building regulations, codes of practice, and best practice.

  • Liaise with customers and colleagues to keep all relevant parties informed of progress and any actions taken. Refer more complex cases to your line manager as needed.

  • Provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, maintaining positive relationships and acting as an ambassador for my client at all times.

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures, including correct use of equipment, PPE, risk assessments, and method statements.

  • Deliver works on time and "first time fix" wherever possible.

  • Use and apply a Schedule of Rates for job costing repairs, ensuring orders are varied to the correct value.

  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required.

  • Accurately complete and maintain records and paperwork in line with my client's policies and procedures.

  • Competently use a smartphone and tablet to record progress, job completion, timesheets, and materials.

  • Procure job-related materials through main partnering suppliers in accordance with company policies.

  • Maintain a comprehensive van stock and carry out works in a cost-effective manner.

  • Keep the works vehicle clean, well-maintained, and report any defects to the Fleet Manager or support team.

  • Support other trades as needed to ensure the best possible service for residents.

  • Work flexibly across multiple tasks where skilled or trained, and undertake training to widen skill levels if required.

  • Properly maintain all tools and equipment, reporting defects and keeping them secure, including vehicles, power tools, and mobile devices.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role and grading.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Competent in carrying out a range of carpentry, plumbing, and other multi-trade tasks

  • Proven experience in a wide range of repairs across various property types

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2, or time-served experience in carpentry, masonry, and/or plumbing, with proven competency in other trade areas

  • Experience working in a trade team to tight deadlines

  • Full, clean UK driving licence

  • Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks

  • Commitment to demonstrating my client's values and behaviours

VolkerStevin have a fantastic opportunity for a Customer Experience Coordinator to join our team on our prestigious project at Littleborough, a project on the Environment Agency framework.

As part of the customer experience team, you will be responsible for the delivery of communications and engagement in a public setting. Working closely with colleagues, you will support with all aspects of the scheme, engaging with key communities and stakeholders, and dealing with events. Lead public meetings and in dealing with challenging situations as they arise. This includes to support proactive communications work that influences policies, plans and decisions of key local stakeholders. Additional support to the project team and work closely with internal teams to maintain and deliver a communication strategy, as well as supporting our partners both internally and externally.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Attend pre-start, project update meetings, business collaboration meetings providing input and support
  • Establish through the client who are our key customers and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and manage detailed communications plan; customer literature, on site set up, media
  • Ensure site is set up in accordance with branding guidelines; improve perception of VolkerStevin/Client through on-site customer communications and branding
  • Ongoing proactive customer communication; face to face, letter, postal surveys, media
  • Conduct regular during construction feedback to identify and resolve current concerns/perception and drive future improvements
  • Resolve & manage all unwanted contacts/complaints in a professional manner and to agreed SLA's
  • Celebrate Success - share good news stories within VolkerStevin and the Client
  • Establish and develop effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
  • Ensure the Project Team register with Considerate Constructor and coordinate evidence for audits.

  • Clear communication skills: able to produce high quality plain English letters, and engagement materials; be able to listen and negotiate; and show judgement and tact when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Proven successes by building and coordinating relationships with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Plan and execute successful events and manage our website

Provide technical and professional arboricultural expertise across a specified geographical area, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to my client's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and manage arboricultural services, including inspections, reporting, protection, and management advice in line with industry standards, statutory and regulatory requirements, and my client's policies.

  • Provide specialist arboricultural advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including recommendations for managing trees in various settings. Engage with private landowners to safeguard residents, employees, and property.

  • Identify opportunities to improve arboricultural policies and procedures, ensuring efficient delivery of reactive and planned inspections and subsequent works. Provide analysis of management data to senior managers where required.

  • Analyse inspection data and support my client's response to ash dieback and other threats. Coordinate contractors, maintain records, raise work orders, and monitor contractor performance to ensure high-quality, best-value outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across departments and service providers to ensure consistent, joined-up service delivery aligned with policy and best practice.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Relevant qualification (minimum Level 4 in Arboriculture or equivalent experience).

  • In-depth knowledge of tree health, risk management, and industry standards including BS3998 and BS5837.

  • Significant experience managing tree assets for large organisations or landowners where tree risk is a key factor.

  • Experience managing contractors, working to Service Level Agreements, and reviewing performance.

  • Skilled in carrying out risk-based arboricultural inspections and using GIS/map-based and asset management systems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative working skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to plan and prioritise work in line with policies and organisational priorities.

  • Experience liaising with local authorities and other government organisations.

  • Commitment to demonstrating my client's values and behaviours.

  • This role is subject to a basic DBS check.
