About the Role:
As a Countywide Reviewing Occupational Therapist, you will work with adults aged 18+ with a range of needs, including:
Physical disabilities
Learning disabilities
Acquired brain injuries
Chronic health conditions
Your key responsibilities will include:
Completing comprehensive strengths-based reviews
Conducting Mental Capacity Act assessments
Contributing to Continuing Health Care (CHC) checklists and assessments
Developing support plans aimed at improving wellbeing and independence
Recommending assistive equipment and home adaptations
Applying up-to-date, evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice
Undertaking risk assessments and ensuring legal compliance
You will work alongside a knowledgeable, multi-disciplinary team to support positive outcomes and promote independence wherever possible.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
Minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience (desirable for top pay rate)
Confident in assessing, planning, and delivering effective OT interventions
Strong understanding of MCA and CHC processes
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment
Pay Rate & Interview Guidance:
The maximum rate of £38 per hour is reserved for highly experienced candidates (2+ years post-qualification)
All pay rates will be assessed based on experience and competency at interview
If a candidate is offered a lower rate than requested, clear reasoning and feedback will be provided

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Resolution Officer to join the Special Educational Needs Team at Calderdale Council.
In this role, you will play a key part in reducing the Local Authority's exposure to tribunal appeals by promoting early resolution and mediation in disputes around Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on complex SEN casework, using negotiation and mediation skills with families, schools, and multi-disciplinary professionals.
Provide expert advice to the SEN service on all matters relating to SEND Tribunals (SENDIST).
Represent the Local Authority in resolution meetings and at SEND Tribunals.
Influence early mediation strategies to prevent escalation to formal legal processes.
Ensure accuracy of data systems and reports related to SEN case management.
Lead improvements across the SEN team to reduce the risk of appeals, complaints, and judicial reviews.
Essential Requirements:
GCSEs including Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
Professional qualification in Education, Health, Social Care or equivalent experience.
In-depth knowledge of current SEN legislation, reforms, and statutory procedures.
Extensive experience managing complex SEND casework, including Tribunal preparation.
Experience in complaint handling, multi-agency working, and stakeholder engagement.
Strong ICT skills for data tracking and performance monitoring.
Desirable:
Working knowledge of the Capita system.
Familiarity with related legislation (Children Act, safeguarding, Adult Social Care).
