Engineering Production Planner Urgently Required to work for a world leading manufacturing business based near Uxbridge. We are looking for an experienced Planner to manage and optimize production scheduling and material planning for a low-volume, high-complexity Engineering manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong planning expertise, a deep understanding of engineering and manufacturing, as this role is critical to coordinating across multiple departments including assembly, test, machine shop, and repair departments.
Key roles and Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed production plans and work order schedules for complex assemblies and service/repair jobs.
- Coordinate material and component requirements in alignment with engineering drawings, BOMs, and customer specifications.
- Interface closely with the assembly, machine shop, purchasing and repair teams to understand capacity constraints and adjust schedules proactively.
- Ensure planning data in the ERP/MRP system is accurate and up to date, including routings, BOMs and lead times.
- Monitor work order progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with procurement and stores teams to avoid material shortages and manage long lead-time items.
- Support sales and customer service teams with realistic lead times and delivery dates for customer orders and repair work.
- Drive planning improvements and support initiatives such as kitting and WIP tracking.
- Identify, define, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for the planning function, focusing on schedule adherence, material availability, lead time performance, capacity utilization, and subcontractor reliability; use these metrics to drive continuous improvement and support data-driven decision-making across operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across planning, scheduling, and production coordination.
Experience
- 5+ years of planning experience in a low-volume, complex manufacturing environment
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, mechanical assembly, pressure testing, and repair
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience managing mixed-mode production environments (new builds, repairs, prototypes)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset

About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Develop designs for mechanical distribution systems (CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW).

Ensure coordination with other disciplines (e.g., architecture and structural engineering).

Operational Responsibilities
Work independently on all technical aspects of mechanical systems or specialist experience.
Lead joint teams within MEP disciplines, providing design and technical advice.
Complete detailed designs for mission-critical facilities and associated mechanical systems.
Direct the production of detailed specifications and manage project feasibility studies.
Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources to meet deadlines.

Knowledge and experience in designing mechanical systems for data centres.
Chartered status (or working towards) with CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of UK and EU regulations, Uptime Institute Tier Classification, and relevant design guides.
Familiarity with design software like TAS, IES, Hevacomp, RevitMEP, and AutoCAD.
Ability to lead, mentor, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working to strict deadlines and delivering projects on time.

U-value, heat loss/gain, pipe sizing, pump sizing, duct sizing, fan sizing
Psychrometrics, control valve sizing, BMS systems, thermal modelling

Our Glasgow based client is seeking a Maintenance Officer for a temporary role in Social Housing. The ideal candidate will have a background in Social Housing and have experience in areas such as project management, inspections, and reactive maintenance.
You will be able to assist with both planned and reactive maintenance activities, working closely with Contractors and ensuring work is completed to deadlines and budget. The position with require strong communication skills, as you will liaise, advise and update Tenants, Contractors and the Housing Management Team. The position will require the ability to diagnose repairs, conduct regular pre and post inspections, allowing you to prioritise workloads and coordinate the response.
