Job Title: Revenues Officer (Revenue and Benefits)
Location: Fully Remote

Bristol City Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Revenues Officer to join our Revenues & Benefits team. This fully remote role is responsible for administering council tax accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing, collection, and recovery of accounts.

We are looking for an experienced professional with knowledge of NEC and Info@Work systems, who can deliver excellent service to our citizens and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain and assess information to determine local taxation liability in line with legislation, including the application of discounts, reliefs, and exemptions.

Accurately update and maintain revenues databases to ensure prompt billing, collection, and recovery of accounts.

Respond effectively to enquiries from citizens, businesses, and agents, taking appropriate action to amend accounts where required.

Negotiate repayment plans and determine appropriate recovery action, balancing the individual's circumstances with maximising collection.

Contribute ideas to improve processes, working practices, and service performance.

Support colleagues through training, coaching, or induction of new staff.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience of working within local taxation or revenues & benefits services.

Proficiency with NEC and Info@Work is essential.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
