Venn Group is working with a proactive and well-regarded London Borough Council in their search for a Contracts Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract., The successful candidate will join the Legal Services Team and be responsible for a varied contracts caseload. Duties will include but are not limited to:
* Drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of contracts including service agreements, collaboration agreements, and procurement contracts
* Advising on public procurement and subsidy control
* Supporting departments across the council on contract-related matters
* Mitigating legal risk and ensuring contractual compliance with relevant legislation
* Working closely with stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of services
* Supervising junior lawyers and contributing to strategic planning within the team
* Extensive experience in local government contracts law * Strong knowledge of public procurement regulations and commercial contracts * Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision * Experience advising public bodies or similar organisations * Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX
