Key Responsibilities:

A Joiner or Carpenter in this role is expected to measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials according to specified requirements. The job involves the installation of various structural and decorative features, including doors, windows, staircases, skirting boards, and more. It is essential to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and plans accurately to ensure precise execution of tasks. The use and maintenance of both power and hand tools must be carried out safely and efficiently. The role also includes the repair and replacement of damaged woodwork and fixtures. Ensuring that all tasks are completed in compliance with health and safety standards is a key aspect of the position. Additionally, the joiner will be required to collaborate closely with other tradespeople and project managers on-site to maintain workflow and project coordination. Keeping the work areas clean and organized is also an important responsibility.

Requirements:

Candidates must have proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter. Holding an NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery or an equivalent qualification is preferred. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential. Applicants should possess good communication skills and a strong attention to detail. Owning personal tools and having access to transport is considered advantageous.

As a Joiner, you will be required to perform a variety of tasks essential to the role. Your responsibilities will be carrying out minor repairs to surfaces and structures, and undertaking general repair works. You will need to use all relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently, erect access equipment as needed with appropriate training, and set up temporary screening to protect the environment and ensure safety in line with Health & Safety guidelines. Monitoring and managing material stock will be part of your duties, and you will be expected to undertake all aspects of joinery work as required.

In terms of client and customer interaction, you should respond promptly to verbal, written, and reactive tasks, carrying out all joinery work to a high standard. You'll provide support and input on projects and notify your line manager of any complaints or discrepancies. For operations, ensure that all work is completed within the approved budget, utilize joinery equipment efficiently to minimize waste, and complete time sheets accurately and on time. You will also be required to implement and follow local procedures and liaise with site management and key personnel on building-related issues.

We are looking for someone who is organized, deadline-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player with a positive attitude and a "Can Do" approach. A good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and relevant legislation is essential.
