We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join our client in Durham (MME2) as an HVAC Engineer.

About the Role:

  • Location: DH6 5NP
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (flexibility to stay earlier or work overtime as required by the business)
  • On-Call Rota: Required (1/4)
  • Salary: £41,000 per annum
  • Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Role Type: Static Site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on HVAC systems, building services, and plant equipment.
  • Manage risks associated with HVAC systems and improve their performance through preventative maintenance and the use of new technologies.
  • Perform fault-finding on various HVAC systems, including Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) air conditioning.
  • Use BMS systems to maintain a comfortable and controlled environment on-site.
  • Ensure safety on site by supporting Health & Safety initiatives and performing risk assessments.
  • Supervise and manage subcontractors as required.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency call-outs outside of normal working hours.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • F-Gas Cat 1 qualification
    • Strong experience in HVAC maintenance
    • A recognised apprenticeship or time-served qualifications in mechanical engineering
    • Proven ability to fault-find and perform complex HVAC repairs
    • Knowledge of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
  • Desirable:
    • Working at Height qualification
    • IPAF/PASMA
    • BMS system experience
    • HVAC controls knowledge
