Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting our client, a top 10 accounting firm based in Birmingham, that are eager to recruit a Tax Technology Assistant Manager to complement their Tax Technology team. You will play a pivotal role in transforming the tax function by bridging their tax technologists with the wider tax service line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for automation by working with tax technology specialists and tax subject matter experts to improve processes using advanced tools and systems.
  • Evaluate technology solutions, assessing business cases in partnership with the Tax Technology leadership and service line teams.
  • Support the adoption of AI and automation, helping to integrate new tools, adjust business processes, and realise measurable benefits.
  • Define target processes and user stories, collaborating with the Tax Technology Manager to shape requirements for increased automation and AI use.
  • Act as a communication bridge between business teams and the tax technology function, ensuring alignment throughout project delivery.
  • Participate in testing activities, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and deliver on intended outcomes.

Key Requirements:

  • Professional tax qualification (ATT, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience delivering tax technology-driven change projects or workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance processes.
  • Skilled in using data analytics tools to capture, review, and analyse business needs, KPIs, and metrics.
  • Experience mapping customer journeys and converting them into wireframes and user stories within an agile framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across different business areas.
  • Previous experience collaborating with UX design teams or agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to process excellence.
