Our client is a collaborative MEP design consultancy, established in 2019, delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the UK and Europe. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their London-based UK team while working remotely from South Africa. This is a unique chance to be fully involved in a UK consultancy and contribute to technically challenging projects-without needing to relocate.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business dedicated to expanding its engineering presence in South Africa, with significant potential for you to take a leadership role in overseeing and guiding the team as it grows and develops.

As part of a fast-paced, growing business, this role will be responsible for leading projects, providing technical expertise, and delivering outstanding service to clients, whilst supporting the ongoing development of the business. Although the role is fully remote, you will be deeply integrated into the UK team of 10. The company is committed to ensuring you feel fully part of the business culture and involved in every aspect of the projects. You'll join all relevant internal and client meetings virtually, collaborate closely with colleagues, and be supported to build strong working relationships, so the distance never feels like a barrier.

The business operates primarily within the commercial fit-out (workplace) sector and works with some fantastic clients and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and deliver Mechanical building services engineering projects from concept through to completion.
* Prepare specifications, drawings, and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations, and Procedures.
* Act as the lead engineer, liaising directly with clients and external design teams.
* Deliver design solutions for HVAC and other mechanical systems for buildings and infrastructure.
* Manage scope, schedules, and budgets, applying the Change Control Process where necessary.
* Provide high-quality technical, design, and contract management support.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

* Degree in Mechanical Building Services Engineering or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years' experience within an engineering consultancy.
* Proven experience across multiple project types, including multi-residential and commercial developments.
* Contractor and client-side exposure advantageous.
* Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD beneficial.
* Proficiency in HVAC calculation software packages such as IES VE.
* Strong technical knowledge of building services engineering and interdisciplinary design.
* Experience with commercial office projects desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
* Working towards or achieved Chartered / Registered Engineer status is an advantage.
