As part of our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, we are recruiting a Security Officer to be based at a high-profile office location in Birmingham City Centre.
Role Overview

You will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of a busy corporate environment. As the first point of contact for many staff and visitors, you'll need to be professional, courteous, and vigilant at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the site at all times.
* Control access to the premises for staff, visitors, and contractors.
* Monitor CCTV systems and alarm panels (where applicable).
* Conduct internal and external patrols to ensure building integrity and deter unauthorised access.
* Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity.
* Record and report incidents accurately using digital and written logs.
* Provide a front-of-house service, supporting the reception team with security-related duties.
* Ensure compliance with site procedures, health & safety regulations, and security protocols.
* Liaise with emergency services and site stakeholders when required.
* Assist during fire evacuations, drills, or lockdowns in accordance with site policy.
* Act as a point of contact for deliveries, contractors, and maintenance personnel.
* Uphold the values and image of Mitie and Lloyds Banking Group at all times.

What We're Looking For
* Valid SIA Security Licence (Essential).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Smart, professional appearance and positive attitude.
* Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
* Good observation and decision-making skills.
* Basic IT skills for using access systems, incident logging, and report writing.
* Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays as part of the rota.
* Previous experience in a corporate, customer service, or office-based security role is desirable.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK and pass vetting and background checks.
