Electrical Maintenance Fitter, Rolling Stock

Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical fitter to become part of an established rolling stock company at their Oxley, Wolverhampton depot. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team dedicated to a High-Speed locomotive fleet

This role falls inside of IR35 and therefore payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella:

Hourly rate: £31.02-£37.16 (Umbrella) /£24.30- £27.59 (PAYE).

Night Shifts: Mon - Thu, 10 hour shifts.

Principal Accountability's

To undertake service and repair of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot.

  • Servicing, maintaining and repair of the overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and equipment.
  • Ensuring that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Seeking to improve quality.
  • SQF work on passenger information systems, lighting and other equipment.
  • Operate as a member of a work team, as the role of that work team requires.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the working area.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work.

Experience required:

Strong understanding of electronic and electrical engineering related to various types of rolling stock. Mechanical experience is also an advantage, as there may be times when you are required to assist in other maintenance duties.

Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Competency in IT skills, including the use of personal computers, office software and diagnostic equipment.

  • Electrical Engineering: Must possess relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
  • Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent.
  • Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Problem Solver: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative: Capable of working independently when required.
  • Judgement: Possess good judgement and decision-making capability.
  • Accuracy: Ability to maintain accurate records of actions and operations in accordance with established procedures.
