Overview:

We're partnering with a respected and growing civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager for key projects across the Edinburgh region.

This is a hands-on site leadership role, ideal for a candidate with a strong background in groundworks and infrastructure delivery within live or logistically sensitive environments. The successful individual will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day operations ensuring safe, timely, and quality-driven project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all on-site activities, supervising trades, subcontractors, and site personnel.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and in line with company quality and safety standards.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and client representatives to ensure clear communication and smooth operations.

  • Oversee site logistics, materials, and resource planning.

  • Maintain rigorous site health & safety compliance, including tool box talks, site inductions, and risk assessments.

  • Conduct regular progress meetings, track project milestones, and report to senior management.

  • Manage permits, inspections, and handover documentation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Site Manager role within civil engineering, ideally with a focus on education or public sector projects.

  • Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure packages.

  • SMSTS

  • CSCS

  • First Aid at Work

  • Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills.
