We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our friendly team at Wakefield Vets for Pets.

Our purpose-built standalone surgery, is situated in Wakefield in beautiful West Yorkshire. Only 20 minutes from Leeds and with the Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep, we have the bright lights of the city, great local amenities and easy access to the open spaces and beaches of the Yorkshire countryside. 

Being right on the junction of the M1 and M62 it is also an ideal base to explore the rest of the country by car and is also only 2 hours on the main train line to London and 3.5 hours to Edinburgh. So, there’s plenty to discover and we make sure you have the work/life balance to enjoy it.

Our surgery boasts state of the art equipment including a corneal diamond burr, a high spec ultrasound and already have surgical equipment for both orthopaedic and more complex soft tissue surgeries as well as endosurgery equipment for laproscopic procedures. 

This position can be fully flexible hours, full or part time, with no out of hours or late nights. Ideally, you’ll work some Saturday mornings on a fair rota basis, shared with the rest of the team, but we’re open to suggestions.  We are looking for an experienced vet who would be comfortable with sole charge and all routine medical and surgical cases general practice could present.
