Job Overview

Some may call us biased-but we know there are few Internal Communications roles that offer the scale, variety, and purpose you'll find at Mitie. Here, you'll help shape the voice of a business that touches the lives of over 7.5 million people every day-making places safer, cleaner, more secure, and more sustainable.

We're proud to work with some of the world's most cherished brands, helping them create high-performing places where people and communities can thrive. From airports to high-street retailers, from hospitals to schools, we're the team behind the scenes making sure every environment performs at its best.

We're now looking for someone who shares our passion for innovation and transformation to lead the communications for our Immigration and Justice Division.

You'll be part of our in-house Communications Centre of Excellence, reporting to a Senior Communications Business Partner, where you'll lead and deliver impactful internal communications across the division. From shaping strategic narratives to supporting transformation, engagement, and culture, you'll play a key role in connecting our colleagues to our purpose and priorities.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Internal Communications Delivery: Develop and deliver clear, engaging communications that support our wider business priorities.

Strategic Partnering: Work closely with senior leaders, project teams, and operational colleagues to shape messaging that drives understanding, alignment, and action.

Audience-Centred Planning: Tailor communications to meet the needs of diverse audiences across a complex, matrixed organisation-ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.

Content Creation: Translate complex initiatives into compelling narratives, using a range of formats and channels to bring our story to life.

Measurement & Insight: Monitor engagement and feedback to continuously improve the effectiveness of our communications.

Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor within the Communications Centre of Excellence, contributing to best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

3-4+ years' experience in internal communications, with a proven ability to develop and deliver strategic, audience-focused communications that drive engagement, support transformation, and align with organisational goals.

Experience working with or within the public sector-particularly in areas such as immigration, justice, or other regulated environments-is highly desirable.

Skills & Attributes:

Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complexity.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at all levels.

Acts as a trusted subject matter expert, with the ability to provide strategic advice and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation

Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to shifting demands.

A collaborative mindset and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Familiarity with change management principles and how to embed them through communications.

Qualifications:

Degree educated (or equivalent experience), ideally in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
