Civil Litigation Lawyer

* Judicial Review expertise - Handle challenging JR cases, particularly in housing, homelessness, and adult social care - areas where your work directly impacts vulnerable residents
* Varied civil litigation - From contract disputes to regulatory matters, you'll never be bored with the breadth of work

What You'll Do
* Provide robust legal advice across the full spectrum of civil litigation matters
* Manage judicial review proceedings, with particular focus on housing and adult social care challenges
* Handle homelessness appeals and housing-related disputes
* Represent the Council in various courts and tribunals
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to provide timely, practical legal solutions
* Draft pleadings, witness statements, and complex legal documents
* Instruct and work alongside external counsel on complex matters

* Qualified Solicitor with current practicing certificate, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx * Strong civil litigation experience with proven track record of case management * Experience in judicial review proceedings and public law matters * Knowledge of housing law, homelessness legislation, or adult social care law (desirable) * Excellent advocacy skills and confidence in court/tribunal settings * Team player mentality with strong collaborative instincts * Ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal colleagues
