Mechanical Services Manager
Ref: 33f9ab2ebd964321911467dc19f56280* Maintain oversight for all mechanical assets, namely Air Conditioning servicing, Air Handling Unit servicing, Gas Servicing, Fire and Smoke Dampers, Automatic Vents, Heating Systems (including boilers, calorifier, expansion vessels), Sewage Pumps, Radon Gas, Heating Systems water treatment, generators
* Oversee proactive and reactive maintenance works associated with mechanical infrastructure
* Provide strategic advice to the organisation in respect of Mechanical Engineering Services
* Provide input into the refurbishment of existing, or design of new buildings, ensuring the mechanical design aligns to Estates and Facilities standards
* Lead the co-ordination and delivery of statutory and non-statutory inspections associated with mechanical services across the Estate, to include: Air Conditioning servicing, Air Handling Unit servicing, Gas Servicing, Fire and Smoke Dampers, Automatic Vents, Heating Systems (including boilers, calorifier, expansion vessels), Sewage Pumps, Radon Gas, Heating Systems water treatment, generators
* Ensure that all paperwork and certification associated with inspections is secured and share with the Compliance/Health and Safety Team
* Oversee the preparation of a programme of proactive maintenance works associated with the mechanical infrastructure throughout the estate, ensuring best value
* Line manage in house Plumbing & Heating Engineers, providing support, guidance and leadership
* Inspect works in progress by in-house staff and external contractors, ensuring quality standards are met
* Ensure all Health & Safety responsibilities associated with the role are discharged, including the preparation and review of risk assessments and works method statements
* Support the Estate's Building Surveyor in the updating of mechanical assets within condition surveys
* To be considered for this role you must have excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering services and hold a qualification in Mechanical engineering * Knowledge of health and safety in the working environment, including the control of asbestos, legionella prevention, and associated legislation. (IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent qualification would be desirable) * Experience of managing an internal trades team and external contractors.
