Solar PV Engineer - West Sussex
Competitive Day Rate | 6-Month Contract (Likely Extension)
Domestic & Commercial Installations | Immediate Start Available

We're working with a leading energy solutions provider looking to engage a skilled Solar PV Engineer to support both maintenance and new project development across a mix of domestic and commercial sites in West Sussex.

This is a hands-on role involving planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, and upgrades - with opportunities to support integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You'll work closely with the Site Operations Manager and play a key part in the wider renewable strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on solar PV systems

  • Deliver Toolbox Talks and maintain high safety standards on site

  • Troubleshoot and resolve 1st/2nd line faults

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis

  • Ensure compliance with NICEIC, E.ON Safety Rules, and wider health and safety standards

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure smooth operations

  • Support development and maintenance of new BESS installations

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services or Gold JIB Card - mandatory

  • 2391 Test & Inspect qualification (or equivalent) - mandatory

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Solar PV installation and maintenance

  • SSSTS and site-based H&S training (e.g. WAH, MH, Asbestos Awareness)

  • Working knowledge of CDM regulations

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • HV SAP experience

  • Experience with EV Charging systems

  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification
