We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the Adult Social Care team at The Bury Council.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy interventions to adults, supporting safe hospital discharges, and enabling individuals to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

You will be working with individuals in receipt of a care package, assessing needs, and recommending solutions such as equipment, adaptations, and care planning tailored to each person.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive OT assessments for adults within the community or being discharged from hospital.

Provide interventions that promote independence and reduce reliance on care services.

Recommend and coordinate the provision of equipment and minor/major adaptations.

Deliver single-handed care and manual handling assessments.

Work collaboratively with social workers, hospital staff, families, and care providers.

Ensure all work is compliant with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

Degree in Occupational Therapy.

HCPC registration.

Minimum 2 years' experience working with older people or adults with physical/mental health needs.

Expertise in:

Moving & handling

Single-handed care

Equipment and adaptations

Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Organised, reliable, and confident in working independently.

Professional appearance (PPE provided as required).
