Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join Children's Assessment Team (CAT) at busy and thriving Calderdale Council.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your daily responsibilities will include:
* CAT responds to all new cases into Children's Social Care.
* All new cases coming into Children's Social Care will be allocated to an appropriately qualified social worker who undertakes single assessments, child protection enquiries, pre-birth risk assessments and cases escalating to care proceedings.
* All assessments must be completed within prescribed timescales and to a high standard.
* Experience of CP CIN, private law and initiating care proceedings is required.
* The Team consists of 4 smaller teams, Pod's. Each Pod undertakes a week's duty on a four-week rota and the Practice Manager is responsible for managing all work coming into the service.
* During duty Week Social Workers are required to be office based.
* Undertaking Initial Assessments under Section 17
* Undertaking Core Assessments under Section 47
* Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47
* Undertaking Pre-Birth Assessments under Section 47
* Undertaking assessments using the Common Assessment Framework
* Undertaking Risk Assessments
* Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
* Preparing and presenting case conference reports
* Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years experience as a social worker within childrens services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
