Staffordshire County Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Social Worker to join our Adults Services team, supporting individuals aged 18+ with physical disabilities, substance misuse issues, and complex needs.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults, while working within a supportive and dynamic team.

? Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage Section 42 safeguarding enquiries

Handle complex self-neglect cases with a strength-based, person-centred approach

Work with adults affected by substance misuse, ensuring appropriate interventions and referrals

Conduct holistic assessments under the Care Act

Apply the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) appropriately

Contribute to multi-agency planning and provide professional advice to colleagues and partners

Support best practice and promote autonomy, wellbeing, and dignity in all interventions

? Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Significant experience working within adult social care, particularly with physical disabilities and/or substance misuse

Strong knowledge and experience in Section 42 enquiries, self-neglect, MCA, Care Act, and DoLS

Excellent risk assessment, communication, and case management skills

Ability to work independently and confidently in complex situations
