Equans is looking for an Account Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for all operational staff, budgets and performance, including statutory compliance of the Facilities Management services within the contract, maintaining a close liaison with the SPV Client and University, ensuring day to day requirements of delivering the FM contract are met.
Management of the University Accommodation and customer service delivery, fostering an attitude of service excellence. The provision of a one stop seamless service to all student residents, tenants (Student Union and Gym), visitors, stakeholders and clients alike.
To work collaboratively with the SPV Client and University to maximise occupancy and deliver service excellence through the management of key relationships with stakeholders and students.
The post holder will be responsible for contractual performance in accordance with agreed budgets, compliance with the Key Performance Indicators; whilst continually enforcing cost efficiencies and maximising value received.
What will you deliver?
- Ensure the smooth running of the accommodation facilities, including the safety and wellbeing of residents, tenants, visitors and employees
- Develop and build positive relationships with residents, tenants and visitors. To ensure students receive excellent service and enjoy a positive experience during their stay in the accommodation
- To deliver high quality services ensuring added value, increased productivity, and cost efficiencies wherever possible and encourage innovation from all departments to provide ongoing service improvements
- Responsible for the effective management of statutory compliance and contractual performance, including the incurrence of financial penalties, to ensure that all services are delivered to the contract specification and that all changes, developments and additional services are recorded accordingly with the commercial activity of the contract
- To exercise financial and commercial controls in the management of expenditure and income within agreed budgets and take remedial action where appropriate. To maximise profitability of operations and deliver ongoing cost savings
- To formulate suitable strategies, in conjunction with the SPV and Client to mobilise and meet the demands of service provision, ongoing improvement and adaptation to changing processes and environments. To ensure that resources within the accommodation are efficiently managed
- To plan the turnaround period from student departure to summer school arrival, liaising with colleagues to ensure that the accommodation is ready to the required standard, often within the required timeframes
- To regularly audit both quality standards and the condition of the accommodation, liaising with colleagues to ensure improvements are made promptly, where needed. To ensure that resident damage is attributed correctly to meet with agreed procedures
- Responsible for recruitment, induction and ongoing training, development and motivation of staff. To establish and maintain a staff development plan on an individual and strategic organisational level. To define, set and monitor the objectives for the facilities services and each of the post-holders where appropriate, ensuring their maximum contribution to the business
- To formulate budgets, business plans and departmental strategies to meet the demands of service provision and continuous improvement
- The effective management of all HR related issues for staff ensuring the close liaison with the contract's HR Manager to ensure that all issues are dealt with in accordance with company procedures and timescales, including probationary and performance reviews, absence, disciplinary, and performance management appraisals
- To manage the business cost effectively with respect to supply chain efficiency in order to achieve best value for money in the procurement of services and goods
- Responsible for the effective management of all associated subcontracted services, to ensure that subcontractors are able to carry out their duties in a safe and timely manner, that work is contractually compliant and that all associated paperwork is completed, including regular service reviews
- To oversee all quotations, estimates and tenders for additional work, ensuring the accurate preparation and processing of all accounts following completion of projects/events within the specified areas
- Manage the process to produce Life Cycle plans in line with the contract specification and associated works following the production of the plan. Work closely with the SPV Client to complete works inline with industry standard guidelines
- To monitor and control payroll and related expenses to ensure that costs are kept to an absolute minimum and within the budgeted guidelines
- To research, produce and coordinate the attainment and retention of environmental management certification, undertaking research and introducing initiatives for reducing the impact of the FM operations on the environment
