Job Opportunity: Debt Recovery Officer

Hours Per Week: 36.00

Barnet Council is seeking a Debt Recovery Officer to join their team on a full-time basis.

In this important role, you will be part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team working within Customer Finance. Your primary focus will be on reviewing and processing adult social care cases with outstanding debt owed to the local authority. You will also contribute to developing and implementing more effective processes that help prevent debt from occurring and ensure early intervention when it does.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and recover adult social care debts owed to the local authority.

Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support effective debt recovery strategies.

Contribute to improving processes and systems that support debt prevention and early intervention.

Support clients in understanding and resolving their outstanding balances in a professional and empathetic manner.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience in debt recovery or financial case management.

A strong understanding of adult social care systems and processes.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
