Eden Brown Synergy are currently working with Reading Borough Council, who are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join their Independent Fostering Agency during a crucial period of transition.

Role: Assistant Team Manager - Independent Fostering Agency
Location: Reading (Hybrid working)
Rate: £Negotiable (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid

About the Service:
Reading Borough Council will take over all children's services, including fostering, from 1 October 2025, following the closure of Brighter Futures for Children Ltd. The fostering service will become an in-house function delivered by the Local Authority.

As part of this change, 53 fostering households will require re-approval, with Form F assessments presented to fostering panels between October 2025 and March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the management and coordination of the fostering team during the transition
* Oversee the re-approval process for existing foster carers
* Supervise and support Social Workers completing Form F assessments
* Work closely with senior leaders, panels, and stakeholders to ensure service continuity
* Ensure adherence to fostering standards, safeguarding policies, and best practice

Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* Registered with Social Work England
* Significant fostering experience is essential
* Previous management or senior practitioner experience desirable
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Experience with Form F assessments and fostering panels preferred
