Control Room Operator

* Join our onsite security team in Canary Wharf, working within a cutting-edge Regional Security Control Room (RSCR). As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for CCTV surveillance, security monitoring, incident and management emergency management and escalation. You will play a crucial role in protecting the client's estate, assets, personnel, and events ensuring compliance with security industry standards and supporting the on-site security teams through effective collaboration and communication.
* The RSCR will play a vital role to the security and protection of the client estate as well as it's people, you will play an integral part of the intelligence cycle and information sharing across a UK wide estate and a global travel and risk management team. The RSCR team will be a 1st point of contact for security escalations and will liaise with a valued watckeeper service that actively engages in threat monitoring, real time alerting and intelligence reporting.
Main duties
* CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance: Operate and monitor state-of-the-art CCTV systems, ensuring continuous surveillance of key areas with new technology implemented to enhance monitoring.
* Threat Detection & Analysis: Identify suspicious activities, assess security risks and event management through analytics, provide first response and escalate incidents as necessary.
* Incident Management & Response: Coordinate responses to security breaches, unauthorised access, and emergency situations, ensuring prompt and effective action is taken as per SOPs
* Communication & Coordination: Act as a central point of contact for security officers, workplace teams, and travel risk teams through the intelligence hub.
* Access Control & Alarm Systems: Handle the companies access control system to include the management of access group within the system and provision of recertification data on request. Monitor Regional Alarms ensuring a proficient response compliant with current security protocols.
* Disruptive Effects Framework: Support the implementation of security strategies designed to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
* Emergency Procedures: Assist in crisis situations, coordinating responses with relevant teams and emergency services to aid the control room commander in decision making.
* Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in the security management system, log incidents, and adhere to AI's and SOP's include monthly confirmation testing. Provide evidence for audit purposes on request.
Person Specification
* Excelled interpersonal skills; be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate confidently at all levels including stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to manage own workload to meet team deadlines.
* SIA CCTV License (mandatory for CCTV monitoring roles).
* Previous experience in a control room environment, demonstrating the ability to maintain composure and a calm demeanour in a pressurised setting.
* Aptitude to work on a variety of security systems unique to the contract (full training will be given)
* Ability to analyse security data and make informed decisions.
* Knowledge of travel risk management and the ability to review multiple data sources to formulate a cohesive report to EY Staff.
* A good all-round understanding of site security procedures and SOP's acting as a focal point of contact for staff members of all levels within the business.
* Understanding of the Disruptive Effects Framework and its application in security.
* First Aid & Emergency Response Training (preferred).
* A willingness to learn and develop and show high level of commitment and professionalism.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Teams and Sharepoint and ability to stay current with system information, changes and updates.
