Assistant Commercial Manager

· Part of Mitie Healthcare Commercial Team to support operational teams with emphasis on the minimisation of risks and contribution to the long-term profitable growth through commercial knowledge and negotiation techniques.
· To support the Commercial Team in applying commercial processes to ensure contractual compliance and adherence to company policies.
· To provide assistance in respect of commercial issues including customer contract terms and conditions, supplier terms and conditions, operational FM performance issues, supporting the resolution of contractual and commercial problems, supporting internal commercial training and development to our Mitie staff.
· Assist with and or carry out such other tasks as may be reasonably required from time to time by the Commercial Manager
Key Responsibilities:
· These include assisting the Commercial team in developing and applying commercial management processes and control measures which are designed to minimise risk and maximise operational performance of contracts, including performance management systems and monitoring of service performance.
· Management of unprogrammed maintenance works, including client approvals, emergency notifications and assessing costs and client invoicing.
· Drafting analysis of variations, payment mechanism inputs and outputs, claim management, reconciliations of billing mechanisms etc.
· Monthly reviews with Finance Teams, reconciling cost incurred, recoveries and revenue.
· Assist Commercial Manager in developing commercial management processes and control measures to minimise risk
· Assist in Commercial briefing and training sessions to improve commercial expertise and raise awareness in operations.
· Assist in negotiation, defending and providing justification on insurance claims.
· Reporting and providing accurate and timely commercial information as required by Senior Management Team and Client.
· Supporting the Commercial Team with value testing (benchmarking/market testing) of PFI Contract Services
· Providing support to Operation's team for more complex negotiations, and dispute/claim resolutions with Client & Subcontractors.
· Assist in managing and creation of legal tenancy agreements for the residents.
· Support in governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being complied with
Key Skills and Qualifications:
· Previous experience in FM & PFI, administering reactive helpdesk tasks or within a commercial function is desirable
· Have Sound financial acumen (P&L), good understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models
· A demonstrable understanding of customer contracts, sub-contracts or legal experience desirable
· Qualified to minimum HND level or working towards degree/ diploma level in either Law, Business, Surveying (Building/Quantity), commercial Management.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong & confident communicator able to successfully engage and influence at all levels of the organisation, including up to Senior Operational Management and senior members of Functional Teams
· Starter - Finisher: seeing activities through to successful completion whilst creating a platform for engagement & collaboration
· The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
· Experienced in Coupa, Concept is desirable.
