Are you an experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in your career? Due to continued growth and internal promotions, a new opportunity has arisen for a Senior to join the expanding Accounts team of a leading independent accountancy practice based in Manchester City Centre.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is either a newly qualified/newly promoted senior or someone who has been working at semi senior level and is ready for a step up to senior.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including statutory and management accounts
  • Supporting Managers and Directors in servicing a portfolio of clients, including regular client communication
  • Preparing corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns
  • Overseeing bookkeeping tasks, including journals, reconciliations
  • Working across a broad and interesting client base which includes large national and international entities

What we're looking for

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or late-stage studier, or qualified by experience with at least 5 years' experience in practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance
  • Confident working independently, with strong problem-solving ability
  • Good working knowledge of Xero and Sage (or similar software)
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, client-focused approach
