Gateshead Council is currently looking for a skilled and proactive Social Worker to join their Integrated Referral Team.

This front door team plays a vital role in the early stages of Children's Services involvement, handling all incoming contacts and ensuring swift, appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process incoming contacts and referrals to Children's Services

• Make enquiries and determine if further social work involvement is necessary

• Undertake short timescale assessments when required

• Respond to safeguarding referrals, including occasional home visits

• Work as part of a multi-agency front door service ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time

This is a 4-day-a-week role, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, impactful environment that supports decision-making at the earliest stage of involvement.

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent

• At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services

• Social Work England Registration

• Driving license and access to own vehicle
