Contract: Ongoing
Shift Pattern: 148 hours over 4 weeks (rotational shifts)
Pay Rate: Competitive + Shift Allowance (Please enquire)

Durham County Council is seeking an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their Emergency Duty Team (EDT).

This is a generic out-of-hours role covering both adult mental health and child protection matters. Ideal candidates will bring experience in both AMHP duties and child protection.

Shift Patterns May Include:

• Weekdays: 4:45pm - 9:00am (overnight)

• Weekends & Bank Holidays: 9:00am - 7:00pm

Key Requirements of the Role:

• Must be an approved AMHP and experienced in emergency mental health work

• Experience with child protection cases highly desirable

• Must be able to work from the office (no remote work due to role demands)

• Must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across County Durham

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent

• At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services

• Social Work England Registration

• Driving license and access to own vehicle
