Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join the Permanence Team within Children's Services at Liverpool City Council. This is an excellent opportunity for social workers with strong experience in Children in Care and Looked After Children (LAC) to work in a supportive, high-performing authority.

???? Contract Type: Locum - Full Time
???? Pay Rate: Up to £44.21/hour (DOE)
???? Working Arrangement: Hybrid - typically 3 days/week office-based

???? About the Role:

As part of Liverpool's Permanence Service, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work for children and young people who are looked after, with a strong focus on care planning, placement stability, and permanence outcomes. You'll work collaboratively to secure the best long-term outcomes for children in care, supporting them through their journey to stability and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a manageable caseload of children in care and those with placement or permanence plans
  • Complete statutory visits, reviews, and direct work to build meaningful relationships with children and young people
  • Undertake care and placement planning, risk assessments, and permanency planning
  • Work closely with IROs, carers, education, health and therapeutic services to support holistic outcomes
  • Provide clear, evidence-based reports and contribute to planning meetings and legal proceedings where necessary
  • Ensure stability of placements and support transitions for children in care
  • Work within Liverpool's strong multi-agency network to meet each child's individual needs

???? Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work degree or equivalent
  • Social Work England registered
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within children's services - particularly with Looked After Children / Children in Care
  • Strong care planning and risk management skills
  • Demonstrable ability to engage and build relationships with young people
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
