Job Title: Household Support Fund Officer
Location: Slough (Hybrid or Office-based, as required)
Pay Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Role Overview:
Slough Borough Council is looking to recruit a Household Support Fund Officer to support the processing of discretionary awards, including Council Tax Support Hardship and Household Support Fund applications. This role has been created due to a significant increase in the volume of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately assess and process discretionary support applications

Work within relevant legislation, council policy, and guidance

Liaise effectively with residents, internal departments, and external agencies

Maintain clear, accurate records and ensure timely case progression

Essential Requirements:

Strong knowledge of welfare benefits and Council Tax legislation

Previous experience processing discretionary awards or similar financial support schemes

Ability to handle high volumes of work under pressure

Excellent administrative and communication skills
