Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Qualified Social Worker or Probation Officer to join the Youth Justice Team at St. Helens Council. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, multi-agency service rated 'Good' in its most recent HMPI Inspection.

???? Working Pattern: Hybrid (flexible working arrangements available)

???? Role Overview:

As a Youth Justice Social Worker, you will play a key role in reducing youth offending and safeguarding vulnerable young people. You'll work with children and young people through Prevention and Diversion pathways, using a Child-First and Trauma-Informed approach to address unmet needs, reduce exploitation risks, and support positive change.

You will be responsible for a manageable caseload and will conduct assessments, develop outcome-focused plans, and collaborate with key partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of children and young people on Prevention & Diversion pathways
  • Complete assessments using the YJB Prevention and Diversion Assessment Tool
  • Develop and deliver child-led intervention plans tailored to individual needs
  • Identify and address risks of exploitation, anti-social behaviour and reoffending
  • Participate in court duty officer cover as required
  • Carry out office-based duties and support the wider Youth Justice Team
  • Work collaboratively with a range of professionals across education, social care, health, police, and the voluntary sector

???? Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with children in Youth Justice or related services
  • Knowledge of Child First, contextual safeguarding, and trauma-informed practices
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Confident working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary setting
