Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to join the Safeguarding and Support Team at Tameside Council on a locum basis.

Role Overview:

This is a frontline role within Tameside's Safeguarding and Support Team, where Social Workers manage complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Pre-Proceedings (PLO) and Court work.

This opportunity is ideal for a confident practitioner who is passionate about child-centred social work and capable of working at pace in a fast-moving statutory setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete high-quality assessments for children in need and at risk of harm
• Manage CP, CIN and court proceedings, including preparing reports and attending hearings
• Deliver direct work with children and families to support positive outcomes
• Coordinate services and care planning in line with statutory requirements
• Conduct statutory visits, reviews, and care plan updates
• Work closely with multi-agency partners and attend case conferences, reviews, and strategy meetings
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
• Provide written and oral reports for panels, court, and professionals as required
• Engage in reflective supervision and continuous professional development

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• Registered with Social Work England
• Minimum 3 years' experience in children's safeguarding and statutory social work
• Court work and CIN/CP experience essential
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
