Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team (CWD) at Rochdale Council. This locum role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex needs and their families, while working within a highly supportive and specialist team environment.

Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Children's Services (CWD)

Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Contract: Locum | Full-Time
Working Arrangement: Office-based with flexibility where appropriate

About the Role:

The Children with Disabilities Team works with children and young people whose disabilities are the primary factor affecting their welfare and outcomes. This role involves assessing, supporting, and safeguarding children with diagnosed disabilities and/or complex health needs.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload that may include:

  • Children in need of short breaks and respite services
  • Children subject to Child Protection Plans, Public Law Outline (PLO), or Care Proceedings
  • Cared for Children (Looked After Children) on both Section 20 and Full Care Orders, managed under Care Planning and Fostering Regulations

You will also contribute to improving outcomes through multi-agency working, careful care planning, and building trusted relationships with families.

  • Maintain strong links with families, carers, schools, and health professionals
  • Work closely with Independent Reviewing Officers for Cared for Children

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in Children's Services
  • Experience working with disabled children or within a CWD team preferred
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
