Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at Oldham Council. This is a full-time, fully office-based locum role, ideal for someone with strong risk assessment skills and frontline safeguarding experience.

Role: MASH Social Worker

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Contract: Locum | Full-Time
Working Pattern: 100% Office-Based

About the Role:

You will join a co-located multi-agency team including professionals from:

  • Greater Manchester Police
  • Health Services
  • Adult Social Care
  • Community Safety
  • Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA)
  • The Prevention Hub

This co-location model enhances collaboration and real-time information sharing, leading to faster, safer decision-making for vulnerable children.

As a Duty and Advice Social Worker within the MASH:

  • You will assess incoming contacts and referrals in line with statutory guidance
  • Determine appropriate thresholds and next steps for intervention
  • Liaise directly with families, professionals, and the public to gather clear, accurate information
  • Make timely, evidence-based decisions in accordance with safeguarding protocols
  • Maintain clear and concise records that support multi-agency risk assessments

This role is integral to early identification of risk and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and families.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • At least 3 years of frontline experience in Children's Services
  • Previous experience in MASH, Duty & Assessment, or Front Door services
  • Strong decision-making and threshold assessment capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work fully on-site, Monday to Friday
