Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for a skilled and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Bury Council. This is a rewarding locum opportunity to work within a dedicated service that supports children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.

About the Role:

This role involves delivering high-quality social work support to children and young people with physical, learning, or developmental disabilities and their families. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to complete assessments, develop care plans, and ensure timely access to appropriate support services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 and Care Act 2014
  • Creating and reviewing Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children plans
  • Supporting children through short breaks, transition planning, and direct payments
  • Working in partnership with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies
  • Promoting positive outcomes and safeguarding vulnerable children

This is a frontline role, and you will be required to carry out home visits, attend reviews and participate in team meetings in person as required.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a compassionate, reflective, and resilient practitioner with experience in disability services. A strong understanding of safeguarding, assessment frameworks, and the needs of disabled children and their families is essential.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent (e.g. BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within Children's Services (ideally within a disabilities or safeguarding team)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
