Payroll Compliance Specialist
Ref: 24572SDD_1753872570Butler Rose is working with one of the UK's leading facilities management and professional services company in their search for a Payroll Compliance Specialist to join their Payroll team. This is a six months temporary role, based in Bristol and will pay £16.67 an hour PAYE to the successful candidate. Initial training will be in-office 5 days per week for approximately two weeks.
Working Hours: 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (flexible)
Office Attendance: 2 days per month after initial training period
This role will support the retained in house Compliance activities as well as supporting the business by ensuring that all of the Payroll Compliance services provided by the offshore team are fit for purpose and meet business requirements.
As a Shared Services expert, this role will act as a conduit between the business and offshore team, this role will review the service levels provided and work to ensure the services are at the right level. Supporting with escalations and designing new processes, this role will shape the service that is delivered to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing and reviewing offshored Payroll Compliance services
Handling pension and benefits administration
Managing HMRC and third-party reconciliations
Investigating compliance breaches and leading resolution
Providing guidance and training to both line managers and offshore teams
Monitoring data integrity and contributing to monthly reporting
Leading audit activity and ensuring robust documentation and sign-offs
Supporting ongoing projects and driving service enhancements
Experience & Skills Required:
Essential:
Strong experience in end-to-end payroll processing
Confident managing large data sets and spreadsheets
Highly organised with great attention to detail
Strong understanding of payroll compliance, including HMRC and PAYE
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
Previous experience in a Shared Service Centre
Familiarity with outsourced service providers
LEAN/process improvement experience
CIPP qualification or equivalent
Experience with benefits and pensions administration
Experience in audit preparation and resolution management
