An opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join the SME team of a well established and forward thinking accountancy firm in Manchester. With a modern, open-plan office in the city centre, this team supports a wide range of growing SMEs and owner-managed businesses across the North-West and beyond.

You'll be part of a collaborative team that goes beyond compliance, offering hands-on advisory support, helping clients with everything from year-end accounts and tax returns to strategic planning, acquisitions, and growth initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a variety of sectors
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, offering clear, commercially-minded advice
  • Supporting clients with financial modelling, forecasting, and business planning
  • Reviewing work of junior staff and supporting their development
  • Getting involved in project-based advisory work, including M&A support and business restructuring

What we're looking for:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a solid background in general practice
  • Experience managing your own portfolio of SME or OMB clients
  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts and tax compliance
  • Commercially aware with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a supportive team
