Contract Type: Locum / Temporary
Pay: Competitive - dependent on experience
Working Pattern: Full-time, with flexibility required for evenings and weekends

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a confident and experienced Senior Social Worker to join their fast-paced Adults Front-Door Team. This is a critical leadership role supporting the effective triage and management of new referrals into Adult Social Care.

You will play a key part in ensuring timely, person-centred responses to people requesting support, while providing professional supervision, guidance, and quality assurance across the team.

Key Responsibilities:
Triage new referrals and manage the waiting list of adults seeking ASC input

Allocate work across the team based on priority and capacity, ensuring targets are met

Supervise Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners, and students

Provide oversight and direction in complex cases, working alongside practitioners

Promote practice that is least restrictive, personalised, and socially inclusive

Support and assure the quality of statutory documentation within delegated authority

Engage with financial processes and support appropriate funding pathways, including for self-funders

Ensure timely, accurate case recording in line with Recording with Care standards

Support the informal resolution of complaints and contribute to formal investigations

Maintain flexibility to respond to service needs, including working out of hours as required

Operate at all times within the professional and ethical standards set out by BASW
