Location: Birmingham - Hodge Hill & Yardley Assessment Team
Office Base: Ann Marie Howes Centre (Mondays & Wednesdays)
Contract: Temporary
Rate: Competitive - dependent on experience
Interviews: Teams interviews taking place ASAP
Driving: Preferred due to home visits and clinics

Birmingham City Council is looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker to join the Hodge Hill and Yardley Assessment Team within Adult Social Care.

This role is ideal for experienced practitioners or newly qualified workers who have completed a placement within BCC Adult Services and are ready to step into a front-line role.

Key Responsibilities:
Undertake strengths-based assessments, support planning, and reviews

Complete Section 42 safeguarding enquiries

Conduct home visits and attend drop-in clinics as required

Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and multi-disciplinary partners

Ensure all work complies with Care Act and other relevant legislation

Provide clear documentation and contribute to positive outcomes for service users

Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Minimum of 2 years' experience in Adult Social Care preferred

Newly qualified workers considered if they have completed a BCC placement

Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and assessment frameworks

Ability to work flexibly across office, community, and home settings

Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred

Work Pattern:
Office-based every Monday and Wednesday at the Ann Marie Howes Centre

Hybrid working arrangement with a mix of home visits and remote working
