Location: Southampton
Contract Type: Fixed Term - 12 Months
Working Pattern: Full-time
Grade: Grade 12
Reporting to: Principal Social Worker
Pay Rate (Agency Equivalent): £35.00 - £42.00 per hour, depending on experience

Southampton City Council is offering an exciting fixed-term opportunity to manage our Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) functions. This key leadership post will play a pivotal role in delivering our Adult Social Care Strategy 2024-2029 and preparing for Care Quality Commission (CQC) assurance.

As Team Manager - Safeguarding, QA & DoLS, you will lead high-performing teams to ensure services are person-centred, legally compliant, and continuously improving. You'll work closely with colleagues and partners to drive quality, embed learning from reviews, and promote a safeguarding culture that upholds dignity, independence, and human rights.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support Practice Leads, DoLS practitioners, and senior practitioners

Strengthen safeguarding pathways and quality assurance frameworks

Ensure statutory compliance under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act

Embed learning from Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), audits, and case reviews

Work collaboratively across Adult Social Care and partner organisations to deliver change

Champion continuous improvement and uphold best practice in safeguarding and liberty protection
