Location: Bournemouth
Pay Rate: £32 per hour
Contract: Temporary
Working Pattern: Hybrid (office and home-based)
Team: Learning Disability

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the Learning Disability Team at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council.

This is a hybrid role supporting adults with learning disabilities, with a strong focus on safeguarding responsibilities including Section 42 enquiries under the Care Act 2014.

You will work closely with individuals, families, and partner agencies to ensure person-centred, strengths-based assessments and interventions are delivered in line with statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 42 safeguarding enquiries as required

Carry out Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning

Support individuals to achieve better outcomes in the least restrictive way

Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and agencies

Maintain accurate, timely case recording and adhere to statutory frameworks

Essential Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration

Strong working knowledge of the Care Act and safeguarding legislation

Experience working within an adult Learning Disability setting

Ideally, previous experience with BCP Council and familiarity with local systems

Must be a trained and competent Safeguarding Adult Practitioner (SAP)
