We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Transportation team, based at either Picketts Lock or Wraysbury. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing commercial resources effectively, maximising planned gross margins through the procurement, placement, and control of contracts and subcontractors.

Location: Picketts Lock and/or Wraysbury depots (limited remote working will be considered to suit individual cases)

Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per year + £5k annual car allowance + benefits

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with the Contract Commercial Manager and the wider commercial team to ensure all commercial activities are effectively managed and completed. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records across both client IT systems and internal Kier platforms, supporting the successful commercial delivery of the contract.

Your day to day will include:

  • Using contract SOR's to price Task Orders raised by the Client within Contractual timescales
  • Ensuring the Subcontractors have Task Orders in place to facilitate works delivery
  • Subcontractor payments are checked and processed in line with the commercial timetable
  • Ensuring all client systems are up to date with information that allows the client to process monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager in analysing contract data and contract documents in order to improve the contract outputs and produce month-end analysis.

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great if you have:

  • Previous surveying or experience of working within a commercially focused environment, preferably in Highways
  • Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise due to high volume of orders
