On behalf of UK Space Agency, we are looking for a Corporate Performance Manager (Inside IR35) for a 9 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (2-3 days per week office based - Harwell, Cardiff, Leicester, Swindon or Edinburgh).

The UK Space Agency (UKSA) is an executive agency of the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT) and provides technical advice on the [1] government's space strategy, supporting the UK space sector to deliver the government's vision.

Space is a part of everyday life. Satellites underpin our national economy, from agriculture and banking to aviation and shipping, and support our national security. Space science provides critical data to understand and address global challenges such as climate change, while missions to explore our solar system unite nations and advance humanity's horizons.

We support a thriving space sector in the UK, which generates an annual income of £16.5 billion and employs 47,000 people across the country.

Through our [2] portfolio of programmes and projects, we encourage the development of national space capabilities and are an early-stage investor in space research and development. We also promote the UK space sector's interests and achievements; make connections to join up industry and academia; and represent the UK in international space programmes

Job Purpose:

* Ensuring that Agency is operating and performing well: setting public and ministerial-facing direction through an annual Corporate Plan, analysing progressing against the plan through Corporate Performance, and summarising success through the publication of the Annual Report & Accounts.
* Duties and tasks commensurate with being a manager of UKSA.
* Deputising for the Head of Corporate Governance & Assurance.
* Task management of SEO level Corporate Planning & Performance Team.

As a Corporate Performance Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:

* Develop and own a Balanced Scorecard that provides confidence in delivery of the Agency's objectives and metrics as laid out in the Corporate Plan
* Work with stakeholders across the Agency to deliver consistency in performance data such as HR and Finance
* Work with stakeholders (including the Evidence Team) to establish, co-ordinate and continuously improve performance metrics
* Adoption of the dashboard and reports and drive positive change
* Work with DDaT (Digital Data and Technology) and data owners to ensure that the Agency has the dashboards, tools and processes it needs for evidence-based performance reporting and decision making.
* Establish, co-ordinate, and continuously improve, the reporting needs of boards and groups across the Agency, Executive Committee and UKSA Board
* Ensuring that the Agency's sponsoring Department (DSIT)'s reporting requirements are understood and delivered
* Overseeing the provision of informed insights using appropriate reporting and visualisation methods
* Leading the implementation of a culture of evidence-based insight that enables focussed discussion and decision making at all levels of the organisation. Providing analysis and challenge of reported data.

You'll have:

* Strong communicating and influencing skills
* Ability to analyse and simplify complex data
* Strong coordination and prioritisation of activities working at pace to firm deadlines
* Experience of drafting and presenting data findings to senior leadership

Desirable:

* Experience of working in a performance and reporting role
* Drafting experience
* Data analysis experience
