Rotherham Council is currently seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities, working as part of a supportive and specialist team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support children and families with complex needs and disabilities. You will work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to deliver high-quality assessments and care planning, responding to both short-term and long-term needs, including safeguarding concerns.

This role requires a minimum office presence of 3 days per week, with flexibility to increase based on service needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assessments and planning for children and families

• Complete short breaks assessments to support family resilience

• Undertake court work and PLO processes

• Respond to safeguarding concerns, including conducting Section 47 enquiries

• Work with children with non-verbal and complex communication needs

• Collaborate with education, health, and care professionals

• Contribute to the team's duty rota and offer timely support to families in need

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration

• Previous experience working with children with disabilities in a statutory setting

• Strong communication skills, including experience working with non-verbal children

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Confident in managing complex cases and multi-agency working

• Enthusiastic, flexible, and child-centred approach
