Job Advert: Gardener with Hard Landscaping Background

Are you a passionate and skilled Gardener with a strong background in hard landscaping? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can seamlessly blend horticultural expertise with robust hard landscaping skills to create stunning and functional gardens.

Key Responsibilities:

* Hard Landscaping:
* Installation of various hardscape features, including patios (slabs, block paving), pathways, retaining walls (brickwork, stone), and edgings.
* Preparation of groundworks and foundations for all hard landscaping elements.
* Understanding and adherence to building regulations and best practices for outdoor construction.

* Soft Landscaping & Horticulture:
* Planting and establishment of trees, shrubs, perennials, and seasonal bedding.
* Turf laying, lawn care, and renovation (mowing, strimming, feeding, weeding).
* Pruning, weeding, mulching, and general border maintenance.
* Pest and disease identification and management.
* Knowledge of plant health and suitable plant choices for various UK climates and soil types.

* Maintenance & Equipment:
* Routine garden maintenance to a high standard.
* Safe operation and routine maintenance of a range of horticultural machinery and hand tools.
* Ensuring work areas are clean, tidy, and safe for clients and colleagues.
* Working effectively as part of a team or independently as required.
* Adherence to health and safety guidelines at all times.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Proven experience as a Gardener or Landscape Operative with a significant focus on hard landscaping projects.
* Demonstrable skills in brickwork, fencing, and timber construction.
* Strong horticultural knowledge, including plant identification, care, and propagation.
* Physically fit and able to undertake demanding manual work in all weather conditions.
