Location: Avon & Somerset region
Salary: £35,000 - £37,500 + on-call allowance
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Your Role

You'll be the go-to engineer across Avon & Somerset Police sites, providing all-round technical support across electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems. You'll:

  • Operate and maintain BMS, UPS, HVAC, emergency power, and water systems

  • Carry out fault finding and repairs on essential systems and equipment

  • Complete statutory compliance checks, system logs, and site records

  • Ensure exceptional standards of housekeeping, safety, and service delivery

  • Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota to support 24/7 service requirements

What You'll Bring

  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (C&G Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent)

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Building Services

  • Strong knowledge of BMS, UPS, generators, air conditioning, water treatment

  • HV authorised person or willingness to gain certification

  • Excellent communication and IT skills

  • Proven ability to manage reactive and planned works effectively

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience with PFI contracts

  • Ability to quote, report, and manage small works projects

  • Familiarity with compliance reporting and control room operation
