Butler Rose is delighted to be partnered with this rapidly growing Hertfordshire based SME who, due to year-on-year success, is now expanding their finance team with a brand-new opportunity for a Finance Operations Manager. This is a key, hands-on role, working closely with the Senior Accountant and Finance Director, to support day-to-day operations, improve processes, and help drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- You'll lead and manage a team of Accounts Assistants, overseeing all finance operations including Accounts Payable, Receivable, Credit Control, and general ledger accuracy.
- You'll play a critical role in month-end reporting related to estimated sales, month end sales reporting and accruals & prepayments.
- Working with the Senior Accountant to assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Accurate VAT posting
- Adherence to and responsibility for internal controls - ensuring optimised cashflow management and weekly approval of payments
Who are we looking for?
- You will be experienced within finance, (minimum 5 years) with knowledge across all areas of transactional finance (purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, general ledger)
- You will have previous experience of supervising and managing staff
- This role requires a 'hands on' supervisor - someone who is happy to roll their sleeves up and support the team where required
- You will be an excellent communicator - working across the business with different departments and with suppliers to build lasting relationships
- This role requires someone who prides themselves in their attention to detail, diligence and organisational skills, and someone who has a proactive approach and positive attitude

- It is essential that you have good Excel skills and previous experience with accounting systems
