Butler Rose are proud to be exclusively partnered with a global manufacturing leader. With a proud history of engineering excellence and innovation, we are now looking to recruit an experienced Production Planning Team Manager to join their Ulverston site and lead a vital part of their operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and forward-thinking planning professional to drive production efficiency, enhance on-time delivery performance, and lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Production Planning Team, overseeing daily planning activities across multiple production lines.
  • Develop and maintain robust production schedules aligned with customer requirements, stock levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Sales to optimise planning and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Monitor and analyse KPIs such as lead times, and capacity utilisation, implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning processes and improve material availability and resource allocation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data is maintained within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Mentor and develop planning team members, supporting personal development and succession planning.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing environment, ideally with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production workflows.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic setting.
  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and experience in process optimisation.
