£68000 - £70000 per annum

Job Title: Corporate Credit Analyst
Location: London (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Division: Corporate & Commercial Banking
Grade: Executive Officer
Reports to: Associate Director / Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking

Are you an experienced Credit Analyst with a passion for corporate banking? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing Corporate & Commercial Banking team within an international financial institution based in the heart of London. This newly created position will play a key role in supporting Relationship Managers and Associate Directors with corporate credit analysis and portfolio management across a broad spectrum of clients and sectors.

About the Role

As a Corporate Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for evaluating new and existing credit applications, monitoring portfolio performance, and acting as a critical part of the first line of defence for credit risk. You'll collaborate closely with Relationship Managers and other internal teams (including Risk and Compliance) to structure credit proposals, monitor exposures, and ensure risk alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

This is an ideal role for a proactive professional who thrives in a small-team environment and wants to make a direct impact on client outcomes and the Bank's overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed credit analysis including financial statement reviews, sector and macroeconomic risk assessment, and credit scoring.

  • Prepare high-quality credit reports and recommendations for internal approval.

  • Monitor credit exposures, limits, and concentrations across portfolios.

  • Work with legal and compliance to structure credit terms that mitigate risk.

  • Conduct annual reviews and manage the timely renewal of credit facilities.

  • Monitor daily excesses and ensure timely reporting and resolution.

  • Support Relationship Managers with client due diligence, KYC updates, and product development.

  • Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders across Risk, Compliance and Audit.

  • Ensure full adherence to the firm's credit risk policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations (FCA, PRA, Basel III, IFRS 9, Consumer Duty, etc.).

  • Identify opportunities to enhance credit processes, customer service, and internal controls.

Key Requirements

  • A good academic background with a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline. A Master's degree, CFA, ACCA, or ICMA qualification is a strong advantage.

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in corporate/commercial banking or trade finance, ideally within a small banking environment.

  • Solid understanding of financial analysis, credit metrics, risk modelling and KYC/AML procedures.

  • Proficient in Excel; experience with Moody's, S&P, Bloomberg or similar risk tools is beneficial.

  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

  • Familiarity with trade finance instruments (e.g. letters of credit), UK mortgage markets, and data analytics tools (Python, SQL, Power BI) is desirable.

Why Join Us?

  • Join a small but impactful Corporate & Commercial Banking team with clear visibility and responsibility.

  • Be part of a culture that values integrity, client-first service, and continuous improvement.

  • Flexible hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).

  • A collaborative environment where your voice and input are truly valued.
