SUMMARY

Butler Rose Northern practice division are delighted to be working with a fantastic accounting firm looking to recruit a "Client Services Manager" in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

This role is for an experienced manager, not assistant level. You will be running a small existing team and be able to manage your time effectively including working on your own portfolio of clients whilst managing the workflow of the whole team including billing, WIP and team development.

Their approach is to ensure they provide their clients with the best talent for each service. That's why they structure the business to meet their clients' needs and are currently looking for a Client Services Manager to join their Leeds team to help support this.

They deliver a first-class service to their clients and contribute to the sector as a whole while undertaking a variety of work types for their clients including

accounts preparation, auditing services, taxation compliance, outsourcing solutions, book-keeping, payroll, consultancy & general advice.

The role of Client Services Manager will have varied disciplines for a number of their key clients, including reviewing and preparing annual accounts, and supervising and mentoring the team members in order to meet their client's needs. The role will also entail involvement with practice and workflow management for the wider team.

They anticipate the role to be split 80% productive (working on key client portfolios) and 20% internal (managing workflow of whole team, managing billing and work in progress and developing the team).

The ideal candidate will have an exploratory approach to working in order to identify and solve problems efficiently and be passionate about developing and supporting their people.

You will be required to report to and work with a director of the service line.

ABOUT YOU:

  • ACCA or ACA fully qualified
  • Have a solid accounting experience obtained within practice
  • Knowledge of accounts preparation for incorporated and unincorporated clients
  • Experience working with IRIS, Xero and Sage would be preferential, but not essential
  • Have strong management, communication and organisational skills
  • Have experience of managing and controlling workflows in a practice environment
  • Be able to confidently work alone but also be a team player
  • Have excellent time management
  • Have the ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and respond promptly to requests
  • Be proficient in Outlook and Word
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel to an advanced level


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients comprising incorporated businesses, although experience of unincorporated businesses and individuals would be advantageous
  • Responsibility for all compliance matters for clients - annual accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Personal tax planning for individuals
  • Responsibility for maintaining WIP and managing team KPI's
  • Reviewing work performed by other team members and assisting with staff training
  • Being the main relationship contact for clients
  • Promotion of the Accounts & Outsourcing team internally and externally - with clients, professional contacts and prospective clients
  • Planning and organising workflow within the department
  • Identifying cross servicing opportunities and business development
